With heavy-lidded eyes, he watches over the fragile wick of hope, trimming, shielding, and coaxing it to burn just long enough for travelers to find their way home. His lamp is not meant to banish the dark completely. No he only to softens it, to mark the path, and to remind the lost that warmth still exists. Walter understands that great fires come and go, but the world is preserved by those who keep a single, faithful flame alive.
